One more shot of the old Micah

Tragedy Strikes the Passey household

BEFORE

I have put off this moment as long as I possibly could. I loved Micah's brown hair, and I loved the streaked highlights that he had throughout. And I knew that this may be a point of the greatest disagreement between Travis and myself in our entire 8 years of marriage. I agreed that it needed to be cut, but in my head the perfect cut was at least twice as long as it turned out. Granted, you have to do what you can with a very squirmy baby and just cut as fast as you can and as much as you can. We did this right before bedtime, so now I don't even want to go and get him out of bed in the morning, because I may tear up and start crying and how silly would that be?. . .

Deep thoughts by me (as deep as they get anyway).

Why is it that we have to relearn the same lessons over and over again? Seriously, whenever I start to really feel stressed and overwhelmed in life, get more easily irritable and not able to multitask at all, it always comes back to the fact that I am starting to slip on the important things. Reading scriptures with real intent, exercising (it makes me such the better person!), etc. And I even know that in my head, but my actual self waits a while before real resolving to do better. Meanwhile, things go downhill and life doesn’t seems as great. Last week was the resolve for me. I can do so much better after only one day—Life was great! Just think how great life gets when you do the important things every day, when you put them first. That’s the only way I can be happy with ME and be a better wife and mom and friend. So now that it’s all down in writing, I am not going to have to relearn this lesson, right? I guess that’s why we hear the same things over and over in church our whole lives, and each time is as powerful or more so than the last. And maybe that’s why I shouldn’t get so frustrated when I have to tell the same things to Kaden (I shouldn’t point him out over anyone else, really) over and over again, making eye contact and having him repeat. . .

Happy Birthday Ammon!

Yesterday, finally Ammon could honestly say he is 3 years old. He has actually been going for 4 or 5 years old lately, but 3 seems to make him happy enough now. He wanted a green cat cake for his birthday so I did my best but his ears were way too big and it looked more like a wolf or fox until I put the whiskers on. We had a nice simple party with
just the family, since we don't know anybody
here, but it was really fun and all the boys had
fun. I got him a set of plastic food because that is
what they always choose to play with at other
people's houses, and I figured that when they
ask me for food a million times every day, they
may be satisfied to just go and pretend to eat.
Much better for everyone involved. So far all of the boys have had a lot of fun playing with them. So Kaden told
me the other day that I am beautiful even when
I don't comb my hair. I love him! But
unfortunately I have no pictures of me here to
prove his words.

Random Pictures

Fun at Mexico Beach. . . Micah is starting to love sucking on his toes, usually the right foot.
So Trav really really wants to cut Micah's hair, and I admit it's long and is starting to get in his eyes and it's need a little tweak. But he's only 4 1/2 months old! Plus i tried to get a picture but it's hard to see in these--His root are so blonde that he's going to have a complete hair color change with his first haircut. I love the brown!
Natural highlights most people spent bookoe (sp?) bucks on.

Poor little guys

Noah and Kaden are having so much fun riding the bus to school together in the mornings. Noah likes to be a good brother and make sure Kaden makes it to his classroom. The sad thing is always the boy left behind. The past 3 mornings that we have walked them to the bus, Ammon goes on and on afterwards, telling me that he is 5 years old (he is not quite 3), and is a big boy and needs to go to school--on a bus, of course. I feel bad for him, but I don't think it's really scarring him too badly. He gets more mom time, and whether or not he thinks he should be going to school, I am not letting go of that yet. It was sad enough for me to watch Kaden. . .

Little Miracles

So my little sister is a Mom way sooner than any of us expected, and I am proud of her and her champion little Braden. Last week Melissa wasn't feeling well and her blood pressure was up a little and by Monday when she went in to get checked again, it was still up and there was some protein in her urine. They kept her on bedrest in the hospital on her left side for 3 days and then repeated some tests and by yesterday morning her protein levels had gone from 900 (high) to 7000, and her blood pressure was way way up, so they ambulance her to Idaho Falls and did a C-section.
She was 29 weeks pregnant, and Braden weighed 3 lbs, quite a chunk all things considering. So I am so excited and proud of her that I had to post it here on our blog. I hope she doesn't mind. . . He did not even have to be on a vent. He just has the CPAP and they probably won't even have to keep that on for very long.
