I did a horrible (or brave?) thing a couple of weeks ago, while Trav took Noah and Kaden to the Father and Sons campout and his phone was turned off. Really I didn't plan it that way. I decided I was going "yard-saling"--I was on the lookout for boy clothes, only everyone here seems to have only girls. . . So I found this little tykes slide for $3, and got it, and got a bike trailor/stroller for $15, and a few small things, and was done, but decided to drive around a little more. The next yard sale had an entertainment center for $50 that looked pretty nice. We have been kind of looking for one for a year and a half now (it was my bday present 2 years ago), but they are so expensive so I have to find one I really really love before I'll ever buy it. But this one was really nice and had some great storage features and I caved in and bought it. So there I am and I drive by another yard sale, and there is a beautiful entertainment center that I like better, and it is solid oak, which is important in the military when you want your furniture to survive lots of moving. I wanted it, but didn't get it right away, because I had already purchased one, but then I came back an hour later and got it. So long story ending abruptly, Trav vowed to never go on Father and sons again, but did approve of my taste and the deal I got in the end, and our friends are going to buy the first one from us.

Last Day of Kindergarten
So today was Noah's very last day of kindergarten. I don't feel old enough to have a child almost in first grade! Anyway, he was very excited for this day and they had a beach party at school. But once it was over, he got very sad about not ever seeing his friends or his great teacher, Mrs. Hood, again. I haven't had to deal with this yet, and am not sure how to help my kids deal with losses yet, especially since we are about to move to Florida for 3 months and then to Virginia. Younger kids are a little more adaptable, or a lot.

Funny Parenting Moments
A few weeks ago, Trav came home from work and went to the fridge to get a water bottle. He pulled one out and immediately brought it closer to his face to inspect it for floaties and backwash. Here he was in his flight suit looking like a fighter pilot, and it just struck me as hilarious and I started laughing. How many of the other pilots in his squadron have to inspect their drinks like that? Oh, the joys of parenting.
Micah Logan
Okay, so about this little guy. He has been so different from our other boys. From the moment he came out with that head of hair that still shocks me when I look at him. He loves to sleep, doesn't cry much and is totally willing to go 3 hours between feedings! For awhile I thought something must be wrong with him, but my mom kept assuring me he was fine, and that lots of babies sleep a lot. The Lord knew that I needed it with this one, and maybe as a teenager or even a 2 year old he will make up for it.
Today he was for sure smiling responsively at me and his brothers. Dad had to miss it while he's getting all this good racquetball in. We'll see if he comes home with a leg trophy like this beauty. . .

Ammon Neal Passey
Ammon is so fun and adorable, and up until recently could do no wrong. However, that fun personality of his also has turned him into the taunter and teaser of the family. He has always been very cuddly and loving.
He loves to pretend to be different animals with his brothers and to follow them around everywhere they go. He also loves to tell me how hungry he is. He is obsessed right now with the color green for some reason--we don't know where that came from, but he loves anything if it is green.
He loves having a baby brother and wants to touch him and hold him all of the time, yet is also trying to hang onto his position as the youngest in many ways.
He has a best friend, Isaiah, and they are still learning about the rules of friendship--but they love each other and get so excited to do things together.
Kaden Thomas Passey
He lives in his own world much of the time, but is eager to please.
He loves to ride his scooter and bike and to be outside as much as possible.
He loves to learn about things from Noah and to read books, too.
He also loves to go to preschool. He plays really well with Ammon and it's fun to watch the things they come up with sometimes.
He is also very good about giving his mom lots of hugs.
Noah James Passey
Age 6 1/2. Noah is a first child through and through. He is obedient and likes to be in charge. He also likes to argue and thinks he is always right (he is only usually right). He is about to finish kindergarten and has been reading since he was 4. So lately he has been into reading about dinosaurs and more recently, birds and sea animals. He is constantly spouting off facts and statistics about things I have never heard of. It is fun to watch him be so excited about learning and do it so well. He is a great helper whenever I ask for it. He loves his new baby brother Micah and watches over him for me a lot.
For the Birds
For Mother's Day we had some friends over for dinner. A couple of families whose husbands/dads were gone and a new family in our ward who was not in their house yet. So Saturday when Trav went to fill the propane tank, he lifted the grill lid and this is what he found. I was so torn as to what we should do with it but Travis was determined to clean it out so we could use the grill before we leave this summer. So I said to go ahead but I couldn't be any part of it. But when he went to clean it out, the egg had a hole in it and was just an empty shell, so I felt a little better.

Micah's First Photoshoot!!!!
My friend Jessica is obviously a great Photographer and she did Micah's pictures at 4 weeks. She was also the one to get me to finally start a blog by starting it for me. So here we go. I have no idea what I am doing. . .

She even caught a few smiles. Travis left for Texas for the National Racquetball tournament this morning and hasn't seen these pictures, but we are convinced Micah will start smiling for real while he is gone. It will only be a week, but he's so close!

This is the real color of his eyes. They were so blue from the time he was born.

If the scale is right, he was right at 11 pounds at 4 weeks.
